lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. With HbA1c% 7.7 & average glucose of 196 mg, you have confirmed diabetes. Hence, the treatment with appropriate drugs has to be continued. It is necessary to bring blood glucose levels to: FBG < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg &HbA1c% <6.8. If this not done and maintained, then it is likely that one would develop the long term complications of diabetes much earlier. It is not necessary to stop eating rice all together. Whether one takes rice, ragi, wheat or any other cereal ultimately all these are converted to Glucose after digestion in the gut. So what is needed is to reduce over all intake of food. Take a diet that meets your exact dietary needs based on your ideal body weight (49 kgs), plus extent of daily exercise and blood glucose levels. Treatment of diabetes will have to be continued for lifetime. There is no CURE. There are no side effects of the drug, but if one does not control blood glucose level then there can be serious long term complications affecting almost all the vital organs and systems. If you have any doubts please come back, preferably in a private (paid consultation) conversation where I will be able to guide specifically. Thanks.
