Yes, you can consume them, that's because carbohydrates are not bad, they are essential part of a balanced diet. It is only the limitations that you need to understand. It is the calorie count that is considered? important. Avoid all types of processed food, packaged food, junk food, cold drinks, fruit juices (ready made ones ). Have more of natural food (fruits and vegetables) as they contain lots of fibres and also many nutrients needed for the body. You can consume less amount of fruits which are very sweet like mangoes, grapes etc. Also it is better to have more of complex sugars if you want to consume carbohydrates as they will release sugar slowly. Thus low glycemic index foods are considered better. Natural food (whole grains, unpolished pulses, organic foods are good options when compared to processed food products ). Read more about this subject and adapt healthy lifestyle. Along with diet, daily exercise is equally important to maintain good sugar balance. You can also add Homeopathy if there is a lot of fluctuations in your sugar control. You can contact me for a holistic approach towards health.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Any food with a lot of carbs, has to be taken in a small quantity. In fact most of the foods that we eat contain a lot of carbs. For example rice, roti (jowar, bajra, wheat or maze), ragi, all other millets, potatos, plantains, bananas, sweet potato etc. Our (indian) diet is mostly (about 70% plus) is made of carbs. It is important to remember to consume a limited quantity, plus look at whole grains and whole grain flour rather than refined or polished grain flour or polished grains themselves. Hence whether it from Patanjali or from any other source, it has to be taken in a very limited quantity. Thanks.
