It actually depends on the kind of food you eat, the work you do ,your age and and daily routine of activities Minimum 45 minutes of walk is necessary if blood sugar levels are high and you are obese. 30 minutes of walk is fine to maintain if weight is normal.

Calorie needs of diabetic patient is the same as any normal person. It is only the control of carbohydrates that is required. In your specific case you may need about 2000 calories per day, of course that also depends on the type of exercise you do.
