Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Since you have diabetes plus coronary artery disease leading to putting of a stent, it is essential to follow dietary guidelines given by your cardiologist. The reasons for developing coronary artery blocks eating of unhealthy foods, excess of saturated fats (in deep fried foods), red meat, plus various type of oily foods. In addition you are also a diabetic patient. There is no mention about the blood glucose levels & HbA1c%. For a diabetic person bread, other bakery items, pastries and foods made out of maida are very bad. Therefore, you will have to follow the diet restrictions. Ideally you should maintain fasting glucose < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c <6.8. Another important aspect is that looking at your height and weight, your BMI is 33.92 kgs/M2 which almost grade 2 obesity. Your ideal weight should be around 67 kgs. Therefore, you need to be more careful about the foods that you eat. Thanks.
