Dear Lybrateuser, - You have not mentioned your blood pressure reading - you have to follow a healthy lifestyle - have more of fibre containing food like fruits, vegetables, legumes, beans, sprouts, nuts, low fat dairy, lean meats - avoid salty snacks, pickles & saturated & trans fat containing foods - do regular exercise like walking for 30-40 min a day - sleep well for 7-8 hrs at night - destress by reading, listening to music, following a hobby, do yoga which have a calming effect on the mind - monitor BP regularly, consult a doctor if it remains high for 6-8 weeks as you will also require investigations to be done & proper medication for your problem.

Hi, First and foremost thing is, avoid excess intake of salt like pickles, pappads, adding salt to curd rice, namkeens, oil fried food, etc. Get rid of mental tensions and worries. Good sleep for 7-8 hours. Start anti hypertensive medication as per the advise of your physician. Walk daily for 1 hour. Perform yoga and meditation to ease out your body and mind. Avoid smoking and alcohol intake.
