Mr. lybrate-user, All green leafy vegetables are good for a diabetic person. It is better to avoid excess of potatos and beet roots. As regards foods to be avoided are: sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, sweetened aerated drinks, bakery items and items made out of maida. Consume fruits like papaya, watermelon, pomegranate, apple, pear, guava, orange and sweet lime. Better to avoid taking of excess of mango, banana, grapes and chikkoo. Total caloric intake should be restricted based on ideal body weight, extent of daily exercise and blood glucose levels. Plus it is better to take small portions per meal and take 4 to 5 meals per day. Thanks.
