My mom54 years old diabetic, taking insulin since 2 years (morning 15, evng10,40international human mixtard units. please suggest some tables instead of insulin. She has post lunch sugar level 270-300, please tell tablets in place of injection for daily use.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. However, there is no information on patient; s weight, height, dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise, hba1c%, lipid profile and bp readings. Unless all the details are there no suggestions can be made however, with such high after food glucose levels patient needs to increase the dosage of insulin. I do not think she can be shifted to oral treatment now. That is possible only if a strict glucose control is achieved. Thanks.

Since her sugar levels are still in higher range. To shift to oral diabetic drugs is difficult. It would be better to continue insulin. But if you insist on shifting to tablet kindly consult online.
