I am 22 years under anti depressant medication from past five years. I just feel inferiority complex and lonely all the time and feel as if I have lost my dream and am doing nothing good. I feel so helpless and get irritated when my family approaches me. What should I do?

Firstly don't feel irritated for your family because these are the persons who are always with you. Medication is not overall solution for this kind of anxiety. Join yoga or medication class. This will help you to heal yourself. You can take some psychotherapies, hypnotherapies, relaxation cbt also from your psychologist. These helps to improve your mental condition. Hi what symptoms you mentioned are all because of depression. It is like using mental filter. In depression we see only the negative around us and about us. We make no efforts to see the positives around us. We even forget our own positive achievements and moments in life. Slowly mind sets into this habitual thinking. But there is a way out. As we go to gym to exercise regularly every day if we want to loose weight same way you need to change your this habitual thinking by conscious efforts every day. Everyday write down the positive happenings in your life even if it means the simplest thing like smelling of beautiful flower fragrance that put smile on your face, someone praised you. This will start your brain rewiring what we call as neuroplasticity towards positive change. Also write your achievements till now. Everyday. Even if you have to write same thing again. Continue this for at least 8 weeks. Learn some relaxation exercise, listening to music. Avoid watching emotional serials or movies. Watch and read comedy. Please do continue on medicines as suggested by your psychiatrist and regularly visit to modify the dose if needed. This is equally important as these exercises.
