Hello I had sex with prostitute and then I was prescribed with viraday tablets due to condom failure. I have completed the course of 30 days without missing a dose and I want to know that whether it is possible to get hiv now. I had started the course of medicine within 48 hrs and completed it in 30 days. Will I have chance to get hiv+ now? How safe am I now?

Hello sir. The pep is highly effective in preventing hiv infection if taken as directed by the physician. Please get your self tested 4 wks after completion of pep and then at 90 days after stopping pep with 4th gen combo test. No other test is needed for hiv screening. However you need to rule out other stis. Thanks.
