Regards Lybrate user. I appreciate your determined efforts towards weight loss. One has to watch for multiple factors when doing regular walking. Factors like the shoe that you wear, the surface that you walk on, the pace of walking and the pattern of walking tend to put differing forces on the muscles that work hard during your walk. One needs to ensure a proper heel to toe pattern is followed when walking to ensure the muscles are loaded appropriately. It may often happen that some muscles get overloaded or overused due to walking mechanics, which may explain why you have had pain for a month. it is recommended that you consult an orthopaedic physiotherapist or manual therapist for an evaluation of your foot/ankle to ensure the concern gets addressed to avoid worsening. Make sure that your foot pain does not become an impediment to your goal of maintaining your health. You may feel free to reach out to us for a virtual consultation if you prefer.
