Hello -stalopam (escitalopram) is an effective medication for treating depression and anxiety disorders. It is a safe medication and is commonly used but needs to be taken under medical supervision to assess for response and monitor for any side effects - you are taking 1/4 of stalopam 10 mg which is only 2.5 mgs daily. It is a very small dose. Discuss with your doctor about gradually increasing the dose according to the clinical response. - stalopam can be taken for a long time till you feel better. (don't take stalopam plus for a long period as it contains clonazepam in addition to escitalopram. Clonazepam is meant for short term use only but escitalopram can be used for several months to years as needed) take care.
