Psychologist,
Hello, I can understand your pain at losing one very important person in life. You probably had hopes of spending long time with her and had plans for the future and now nothing is going to happen. All these thoughts might be causing you sadness, disappointment and some anxiety and anger on the other hand. While it's important to be an important part of someone else's life, yet it's also important to know when to call it off if it's not working anymore. 1. At the age when you broke up it is common for boys and girls to get attracted to each other and spent some time together. But equally common is breakups when one or both see that their needs are too different now and the other person will not fit the requirements any more. While this process is very heart breaking, but it is also important so that you can meet different people and see who is your kind of person and who will help you in the next phase of life ie. Job, marriage children. 2. By going through different relationships you will also understand yourself better and what do you want from a potential partner and discover many hidden qualities and weaknesses in yourself. It's your growing edge to work through your weaknesses and sharpen your qualities. You will also discover your passion, dreams and hobbies and interests. 3. I suggest that you look at this breakup as a learning lesson and an opportunity to improve on any thing that was your mistake and assess your life choices again. What was meant to go will go. Let it go and you carry on with your journey. You are 29 years old and some years later you might start feeling too old to get married and setle. You might feel more lonely than you are feeling already. This leaves a bitter memory of the past and chances are that you will regret staying single for so long. 4. Being flexible and independant in relationships is important. There will be times when you might not have any body's support or company. That is the time to learn to be your own friend and give yourself that love, importance and value which you want from a close friend. This is healthy self love and very important for self confidence and high self esteem. Whether you are in love or not, valuing yourself at all points is a very important aspect of high self esteem and self confidence. 5. Indulge yourself with meeting new people, going places, discovering your passion, hobbies etc. Spend time alone with yourself to nurture the person within you. If you can not do these on your own, then please see a counsellor and take their help to help you get direction back in life.

Dear user. Obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental disorder where people feel the need to check things repeatedly, perform certain routines repeatedly (called "rituals"), or have certain thoughts repeatedly. People are unable to control either the thoughts or the activities for more than a short period of time. The most effective medications prescribed for obsessive-compulsive disorder are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), which are antidepressants. The medicines should used along with cognitive behavior therapy. Take care.

My daughter was under depression treatment for 6 years under a well reputed psychiatrist .The entire treatment is over she is now under maintenance dosage. Offlate she has developed some unknown fear she cries whenever she gets fear. As we know it is Post trauma disorder we do not know how to train her to overcome it. Please advice us how to to overcome it?

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
This has often been the problem with treatment: you must combine medication with counseling to get the best results. It is still not too late to go for counseling. Normally, anxiety goes with depression and it looks like some counseling may have helped with that. Anxiety is an abnormal form of fear. So some emotional therapy will certainly help her to deal with the fear.

Sir I have an problem. When I do something such as when I plays a game then all the day I feel that I am in that game and behaves like that. For more clearance I takes the game subway surf. After playing it I thinks that there are three lanes in my life and I starts to jump when any one comes next to me. The same happens with physical games. Sir please advice me what to do.

M.S. Counselling and Psychotherapy

Probably you are addicted to computer games. Please start playing actual physical games like football, basketball, cricket, or badminton, tennis etc. Or go for jogging or cycling, swimming etc. It will improve your physical and mental health. Restrict you computer time to only 1 hour per day. Getting addicted to computer games is very harmful. It will affect your physical health adversely. And you are already experiencing the ill effects on your mind. You are unable to differentiate between the actual and virtual world. Before it harms you further, control yourself, spend more time reading books, or pursue your hobby. Consult a counsellor if you need further assistance.

Dear user. I can understand. Thinking is a complex mechanism and your mind's job is to think. If you allow you to think without having control over it, it will always wander into negative territories. You should train yourself to keep your thoughts under your control. Cognitive therapy will help you in this case. Take care.
