Hi Doctor, What is the window period for HIV-2? it says that it takes more than 8 months to detect HIV-2. However, again some article says that Western Blot at 3 months is enough to exclude the possibility of HIV-2? Please help here doctor. Please.

Hello, Thanks for your query on Lybrate "As" per your clinical history is concerned 3-6 month is enough for HIV test to detect antibody, so if you have already done tests after 6 months and the test report is negative then do not worry at all and you are 100% safe. Hope that helps.
