I feel dizziness for a 2-3 seconds immediately after I stand up from my sitting position while using indian style toilet. I'm 21 year old, without any bad habits and I have constipation and I cured it with some diet modification. of course sometimes it again appears for once in 2 weeks.

Hello, Thanks for your query on Lybrate "As" per your clinical history is concerned your problem is called as [BPV] in medical science and it is a minor problem and for it, you need a Canalith repositioning and it is performed in your doctor's office, the canalith repositioning procedure consists of several simple and slow maneuvers for positioning your head. The goal is to move particles from the fluid-filled semicircular canals of your inner ear into a tiny bag-like open area (vestibule) that houses one of the otolith organs in your ear where these particles don't cause trouble and are more easily resorbed. Each position is held for about 30 seconds after any symptoms or abnormal eye movements stop. This procedure is usually effective after one or two treatments. Your doctor[ENT] will likely teach you how to perform the canalith repositioning procedure on yourself so that you can do it at home if necessary. Hope that helps.

Hello, Thanks for your query on Lybrate "As" per your clinical history is concerned you can take (Sinarest Tab)every 8 hours for 3 days for your headache and add nasal drop (Otrivin-drops to each nostril twice a day for 7 days and follow lifestyle modifications like this - 1) Try to avoid upper respiratory infections. Minimize contact with people who have colds. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water, especially before your meals. 2) Carefully manage your allergies. Work with your doctor to keep symptoms under control. Do check your blood differential every month. 3) Avoid cigarette smoke and polluted air. Tobacco smoke and air contaminants can irritate and inflame your lungs and nasal passages. 4) Use a humidifier. If the air in your home is dry, such as it is if you have forced hot air heat, adding moisture to the air may help prevent headaches. Hope that helps.

I am a 30 years old male. I always have constipation problem. I use to take fibres in my diet. I have consulted a physician too. I did what he told me. I avoid junk food, I don't take tea or coffee, I only take tea or coffee once in morning. I eat soaked gram, dates and some dry fruits in the morning. When I could digest good, I feel happy. I feel my face is glowing. But I can not digest properly always. Usually I spend around 15 to 20 minutes in latrine. My stool is not very hard but it does not pass easily. It is not my recent problem, I have been experiencing it many years ago. I had a neural injury. I had committed a bike accident in 2010. It was a axonal injury. I could not decide what is the real cause of my problem. Please help me.

Hello, Thanks for your query on Lybrate "As" per your clinical history is concerned you need few investigations by your local Doctor Gastro and it is colonoscopy, anorectal manometry, colonic transit study, an MRI scan to rule out injury status. Do follow like this- 1) Exercise most days of the week. Physical activity increases muscle activity in your intestines. Try to fit in exercise most days of the week. 2) Don't ignore the urge to have a bowel movement. Take your time in the bathroom, allowing yourself enough time to have a bowel movement without distractions and without feeling rushed. 3) Do take stool softener at bedtime Cremaffin plus-15 ml with a cup of milk and drink more than 10 glass of water. 4) Extract the juice of half a lemon and add it to a glass of warm water. You can also add a pinch of rock salt or one-half teaspoon of table salt and a little honey to it. Drink this nutritious lemon water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. You can also drink a glass of this tasty drink in the evening. Hope that helps Follow me with reports.

I have hypertension can I be pregnant now I am on ayurvedic medicine bp ranges 140/90.
Hello, Thanks for your query on Lybrate "As" per your clinical history is concerned there is no problem in getting pregnant but try to control it to 80-85mmhg for your diastolic pressure and for it you need to modify your lifestyle like this - 1) Eat healthy foods. Eat a healthy diet. Try the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet, which emphasizes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, poultry, fish and low-fat dairy foods. Get plenty of potassium, which can help prevent and control high blood pressure. Eat less saturated fat and trans fat. Do consult with your dietician to make a chart. 2) Decrease the salt in your diet. 3) Try to maintain a healthy weight. Keeping a healthy weight, or losing weight if you're overweight or obese, can help you control your high blood pressure and lower your risk of related health problems. If you're overweight, losing even 3 kilograms can lower your blood pressure. Increase physical activity. Regular physical activity can help lower your blood pressure, manage stress, reduce your risk of several health problems and keep your weight under control. So try to do at least 150 minutes a week of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes a week of vigorous aerobic activity, or a combination of moderate and vigorous activity. Aim to do muscle-strengthening exercises at least two days a week. 4) Try to avoid alcohol and smoking. 5) Try to manage stress. Reduce stress as much as possible. Practice healthy coping techniques, such as muscle relaxation, deep breathing or meditation. Getting regular physical activity and plenty of sleep can help, too. 6) Monitor your blood pressure at home. Home blood pressure monitoring can help you keep closer tabs on your blood pressure, show if medication is working, and even alert you and your doctor to potential complications. Hope that helps.

Hello, Thanks for your query on Lybrate "As" per your clinical history is concerned you have mentioned half a headache and weakness so, in my opinion, I may suggest you do an MRI scan and CBC with a differential count to know the exact cause of it and do take treatment as per your investigation reports only and whether you need rest or not depends upon your disease only. Do follow lifestyle modifications like this - 1) Don't smoke and limit cholesterol and fat. Cutting back on cholesterol and fat, especially saturated fat and trans fat, in your diet may reduce the buildup of plaques in your arteries. 2) Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. These foods contain nutrients such as potassium, folate, and antioxidants, which may protect against a TIA or a stroke. 3) Limit sodium. If you have high blood pressure, avoiding salty foods and not adding salt to food may reduce your blood pressure. Avoiding salt may not prevent hypertension, but excess sodium may increase blood pressure in people who are sensitive to sodium. 4) Do exercise regularly. If you have high blood pressure, regular exercise is one of the few ways you can lower your blood pressure without drugs. 5) Limit alcohol intake. Drink alcohol in moderation, if at all. 6) Maintain a healthy weight. Being overweight contributes to other risk factors, such as high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. Losing weight with diet and exercise may lower your blood pressure and improve your cholesterol levels. 7) Don't use illicit drugs. 8) Control diabetes. You can manage diabetes and high blood pressure with diet, exercise, weight control and, when necessary, medication. Hope that helps.

Hello, Thanks for your query on Lybrate "As" per your clinical history is concerned please continue with medication and you will feel better after 2 weeks time. Try to avoid Iron supplements, Cholestyramine, Aluminum hydroxide, which is found in some antacids and Calcium supplements etc which delays absorption of thyroid medications. Some diet suggestions for hypothyroidism include: 1)Take foods high in Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids such as leafy green vegetables, salmon, nuts, seeds, and shrimp etc 2)Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day. Water and green tea can be sipped on in between meals to prevent dehydration. 3)Iodine rich foods such as seaweed and algae should be eaten regularly. 4)Foods such as broccoli, cauliflower, soy, beans, and spinach can actually slow down the functioning of the thyroid so they should be eaten in small quantities. 5)Avoid artificial sweeteners, caffeine, dairy, and alcohol when on a diet for hypothyroidism. Hope that helps
