About Moxclav Bd Drop

As a penicillin antibiotic, Moxclav Bd Drop treats bacterial infections. It interferes with the synthesis of cell wall in a bacteria and stops it from growing. It is used to treat infections of the lungs and airways, skin, middle ear, sinuses, and the urinary tract. It also treats conditions like tonsillitis, pneumonia, bronchitis and gonorrhoea. Moxclav Bd Drop when used with an antibiotic clarithromycin, it treats stomach ulcers.

You should not use amoxicillin if you are allergic to any penicillin based antibiotic. Amoxicillin can make birth control pills less effective so ask your doctor about using non hormonal birth control to prevent pregnancy during the treatment. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby as it may cause harm to the baby. To make sure amoxicillin is safe for you, inform your doctor if you have asthma, liver or kidney disease, mononucleosis, a history of diarrhoea caused by taking antibiotics; or food or drug allergies.

Other drugs may interact with amoxicillin, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Tell each of your health care providers about all medicines you use now and any medicine you start or stop using.

Common side effects may include stomach pain, vomiting, nausea, diarrhoea, headache, vaginal itching or discharge or swollen or black tongue. Call your doctor at once if you have the following after using this medicine:

        Doxycycline

        Usage of Moxclav Bd Drop with Doxycycline should be avoided and usage of other antibiotics should be reported to the doctor.

        Methotrexate

        Usage of Moxclav Bd Drop with Methotrexate or other chemotherapy medicines should be reported to the doctor. The levels of Methotrexate in the body along with symptoms of toxicity should be closely monitored while both these medicines are taken.

        Warfarin

        Usage of Moxclav Bd Drop with Warfarin should be reported to the doctor. The clotting time should be monitored promptly. Symptoms like increased bleeding, swelling, dizziness and weakness should be reported immediately.

        Ethinyl Estradiol

        Usage of Moxclav Bd Drop with Ethinyl Estradiol decreases the effectiveness of oral contraceptive pills, which might result in unplanned pregnancies.
