The excess fluid gets accumulated in the tissues and causes inflammation of body parts. Swelling can be both external and internal. The major causes behind external swelling are injuries, insect bites, fluid retention, hormonal changes etc. Serious factors like kidney failure, heart diseases and venomous stings can lead to swelling, which is widespread.
