The inflammation of the inner lining of the colon(large intestine) is called Colitis. Infections, allergic reactions, Crohn's disease or Microscopic Colitis are the various reasons which cause this condition in a person. Although the symptoms vary from person to person, based on the cause of the condition, the most commonly seen symptoms are abdominal pain, cramps, fatigue, skin inflammation, dehydration, diarrhea and fever. It can be diagnosed by laboratory tests, biopsy CT scans or abdominal X rays. Sometimes it might be acute, whereas at other times it might be chronic.
