Hello doctor, My mom is 56 years old and she is having a diabetics from the past 7-8 years and she is taking jalra m 50/500 and insugen 30/70 insulin from the past 6 months. But her sugar levels are not coming down and her current sugar levels are between 250 to 280. So please provide some solution for this.

Hi I hope she is following a proper diet and exercising regularly. Apart from this she needs to adjust the insulin dosage. Morning insulin dose will have to be increased/decreased if her before dinner blood sugars are high/low respectively. Night insulin dose will have to be increased/decreased if her before breakfast blood sugars are high/low respectively. Always increase and decrease the insulin dose by 2 units only and not more than that, do not adjust the dose everyday but do it once in 3 -4 days. Normal blood sugars values: FBS or before any meals :80-120 mg/dl After meals: 140-180 mg/dl.

Change the medicines 1. Tab. Glynova mp2 twice daily 20 min before meal and also lantus 20 units daily late night. Then test after every 3 days. See result. Avoid insulin mixtard. I can guide you talk with me.
