lybrate-user, Yes a person with T2 DM even if in control, can or will need insulin eventually as the diabetes continues unabated, it damages insulin producing cells of pancreas, Therefore, in patients with long standing diabetes (20 - 30 years), invariably need for Insulin doe sarise. Thanks.

Yes, it is possible. If the diabetes cannot be controlled with medicines, then insulin is necessary. But if it under control, then it is okay. Regular exercises especially walking helps to keep diabetes under control.
