I suffer from cold and cough every winter, and have to take precaution. All throughout winter I have to drink hot water. There is no end to it and I get a lot of Phlegm. Kindly Advice what measure I should take. Thanks.

Dear lybrateuser, -Your problem could be due to allergy -do warm salt water gargles regularly at least twice a day -have more of warm fluids, water, tea, coffee, milk(add 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder in a cup), soup -have7-8 glasses of water to keep yourself well hydrated -avoid spicy, sour & junk food, have warm ,fresh homemade food with more of fruits & vegetables to boost your immunity -take tab levocetirizine, 5mg , daily in the evening -do steam inhalation twice a day till symtoms subside -do regular moderate exercise like walking, jogging, yoga in the morning to boost your immunity -avoid too much exposure to cold, keep self warm when moving outdoors.
