My grand father is having diabetes. Even my dad is having diabetes.in our family many people have diabetes. So all are telling tat due to heredity even i'll suffer from diabetes after I turn 35 years. so still i'm 25 years old. So how to control from now from not getting diabetes. please tel me how to maintain and what to do from now in detail.

Mr. lybrate-user I can understand your problem. My openion for you that Diabetes no dought hereditary but it is not true always for diabetes type 2, So you take following measures fro. Today onward. Basically you have to focus on your diet and physical exercise. 1. Daily morning walk for 35 to 45 minutes. 2.Daily exercise for minimum 30 minutes with meditation. 3 .avoid excessive salt in your diet. 4.sugar and sweet dairy product should be avoided to a maximum extent approximately nil. 5. Meal must include high fiber like wheat flour with bran or mix with gram floour 6. Plenty of green high fibrous vegetables, fruits having high fiber. 7 eat meal slowly ,take small frequent meal 8 morning breakfast must include sprout 9. 200 ml / day double toned milk 10. Avoid oily spicy junk and processed foods 11. No smoking no alcohol no tobaco 12 avoid plenty of tea and coffee 13 Minimized backed products 14. Minimize stress to 50%
