I am 28 year old male and I am pure vegetarian. I used to play badminton regularly, now a days am suffering from bone pains. I went for a normal blood check up, they said that calcium is deficient. What should I do now to improve the vitamin D.

Hi lybrate user, vitamin d helps in calcium absorption hence they both are interconnected. Vit d is best absorbed from sunlight. Our body needs 30 mins of sunlight daily to synthesise vit d. In addition other sources for calcium & vit d. Are fish, milk, cheese, curd, eggs, spinach, soya beans, cod liver oil capsules. Depending on your test reports, the doc may recommend additional vit d / calcium supplements.
