57 y/o female on 20 mg simvastatin o.d. For 8 past months. Experiencing joint pain affecting movement, severe muscle spasms and irregular heartbeat at night affecting sleep for the last 2 months. I halved dosage to 10 mg o.d. For last two weeks. Slight lessening of side effects. Cholesterol fbc was 9, now 3.8 three weeks ago per pharmacy otc test. I'm also on ectorin tablets o.d. Amlodipine 10 mg o.d. And enalapril 5 mg. B.d. Bp is fine. Wt was 89 kg now 79 kg after 1 month intermittent fasting keto diet. Will continue until 65 kg. Should I stop the simvastatin until I see Dr. on 14th april as the side effects are debilitating and affecting my life.
