I am 55 years old. I am a type ii diabetic patient. I am taking diapride 1 mg for diabetes since one year daily in the morning before breakfast. From 5 days I am taking roseday 10 mg daily in the night after dinner for increase of triglyceride in the blood which is 205. Is it right that blood glucose level increases by taking roseday 10 mg for diabetic patients. If it is yes, what are the precaution to be taken. Doctor kindly needed your valuable suggestions in this regard.

Mr. lybrate-user m, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. I understand that you have diabetes and taking tablet diapride 1 mg (glimiperide 1 mg). But there is no mention about actual glucose levels (fasting, pp & hba1c%). Hence, there is no way to know what is the current situation. Secondly taking rosuvastatin 10 mg does not lead to any increase in the blood glucose levels. I do not know how this doubt has come. Another important aspect tgl 205 mg is not too high. More important is ldl l level, which is not mentioned. Now a days more importance is given on ldl cholesterol level. That needs to be maintained < 70 mg in diabetic person. In diabetes controlling blood glucose (fasting < 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% < 6.5%) is very essential. Because high blood glucose leads to multiple long term complications associated with diabetes. If you have any questions please do come back. Thanks.
