I am 25 year old female since few days I am having gastric problem such as heart burn and burning sensation in stomach which moves from chest and sometimes in my back too. I fart before I poop and burp after I drink I feel really discomfortable. I have thyroid since 3 years and for that I am taking 25 mg thyronorm. Please please help me what should I do. My doctor given me antacid after taking those I feel a bit fine but its again start. One more thing can I drink sucralfate syrup for this gastric problem? It become worse at night and when I lie down. I am so stressed please help me.

Dear user, if the problem becomes more on lying down you might be having gerd. It is when the esophageal sphincter is lax and causes the backflow of stomach acids into the esophagus then throat. Avoid smoking, alcohol, caffeine products, spicy foods, oily foods, fried foods etc and do not lie down for 2 hrs after a meal. This will increase the reflux.
