Dear Lybrate user, I am sure you must have discussed the sexual adverse effects of various medications with your psychiatrist. You are taking paroxetine clonazepam combination which is quite effective in managing panic disorder. I don't think aripiprazole is needed for panic unless it has been prescribed for some other psychiatric illness. You could discuss about possibility of discontinuing it with your psychiatrist. There are two options in case the sexual dysfunction persists even after that. Either paroxetine can be changed to another ssri antidepressant like escitalopram/sertraline or a low dose bupropion, mirtazapine or buspirone could be added to paroxetine. You could also consider starting cbt psychotherapy for panic disorder to reduce the need for medications.

Dear user you were suffering from panic attacks and you took medicines, its okay. But medicines are only okay for some time, obviously you don’t want to take medicines for life time and don’t want to be suffered from panic attacks in future so treat yourself in a proper way with counseling. You are too young to take these medicines, if you don’t want to take medication for life time then please wake up yourself, medicines are not a perfect solution for mental health, you have to work on your own, your will power, your mind and thoughts. But due to certain reasons if you are on antidepressants you have to take some extra care of yourself. I dont know what are the circumstances under which you are taking medicines, I want to know the whole details about your disorder. But I must say dont depend on the medicines and dont make it a habit for future. Definitely medicines have side effects. You need counseling session for a better control on this disorder and medicines. Medicines are not the only solution, counseling is a best option for your sexual problem as well so that you could better understand yourself and save yourself from the side effects of medicines. Please call and discuss your problem in detail and then ill be able to help you better. My contact no is mobile.

There are psychological causes of panic disorder and they are needed to be resolved. Psychotherapy plus clinical hypnotherapy has shown great results in anxiety and panic disorders and these changes are long lasting without any dependency on pills meditation etc. A therapist will make your mind and body more stable and you will be able to feel better even after reducing the dosage of medicines but to taper down the medicines you will need to consult your psychiatrist.
