Hello doctor I am 20 years old adult. I have an issue related to vaginal area. Actually when I am in squat position, I have noticed this yesterday only that I feel a bit pressure like in my vaginal-anus region. It's like a tight something feel there. I keep my private areas clean though but today I noticed something white sort of that is kind of in my vagina area. I tried to apply coconut oil in the area and thought it might be mucous like normal something, a bit of it was removed. But still there is that white thingy in my vagina, particularly in lips region of vagina or what. What is it? Is it something to worry about. Please answer me in detail because last time I even paid a doctor and in return she didn't even answer my concerns.

Hello lybrate-user. It is difficult to predict what it is without examining properly. But based on what you told, you must be having candidiasis, which is a fungal infection. We need additional history to determine what it is. So, kindly consult online for further management.

I feel that a clinician should not arrive at a conclusion without seeing the patient. But your description is so vivid so that I thought I should answer. There are two probabilitiies. 1.it can be thick vaginal secretions because of infection with fungus. 2. The other possibility is some growth from cervix like a fibrid polyp. Anyway you have to get a scan done and a culture done after taking a swab from vagina. But there is nothing alarming about it. But treatment can be offerred only after examining you.
