I visited a gain a few days ago. She did and ultrasound and was advised that I am 5 weeks pregnant. For abortion she gave me a few tablets and I would like to know if I have been advised the correct way to take these medicines. Day 1, 10 am: 1 mifepristone and 1 misoprostol tablet with water. Day 2, 10 am: 1 misoprostol and another misoprostol tab at 10: 30 am buccally, keeping it under the tongue until it dissolves day 2, 12: 30 pm: 2 more misoprostol tab to be taken orally with water day 3: no medicine day 4: 1 misoprostol tablet after breakfast. Day 5: 1 misoprostol tablet after breakfast. Do I really need to consume so many misoprostol tablets, I have read a couple of places online that 4 misoprostol would work. So I wanted a second opinion on this to ensure I am not over dosing on misoprostol and that these would?t impact my future pregnancy in any way.

Medical termination of pregnancy is strictly done under the direct supervision dosages and regiments differs from practitioners to practitioners depending upon the weeks of pregnancy.

Yes usually 4 misoprostol is enough. Take 2 tabs stat after 24-48 hrs of mifepristone and again take the other 2 after 3 hours. Repeat doses are required if you have retained products. Usually we advise an ultrasound after 2-3 weeks to see if any tissue retained.
