I have frequent urination with burning sensation. Since 3 days. I faced it in night also. My sleep got disturb at night as I woke up 2 to 3 times at night. I took levofloxacin 500 mg and nitrofurantoin 100 mg since 2 days .how many days I will take these and still I woke up at night for urge to urination. Should I add some other medications.

Hello, Thanks for the query. It is better to get the routine urine examination done which includes microscopy also. That will give some idea if there is infection. Ideally get a urine culture before starting antibiotics and then start antibiotics (usually nitrofurantoin) while waiting for the report. Also get your sugar levels rechecked as high sugar levels may lead to recurrent uti and frequent urination. Since you have started antibiotics, continue them for 5 days. Consult a urologist if you develop fever or flank/back/lower abdominal pain. Get well soon.
