My wife delivered a baby boy on feb 28th this year and has been breastfeeding him since then naturally. Last sunday, she suffered with fever due to the massive stocking up of breast milk on her right breast. So, on the next day, she consulted a lady doctor (not a gynaecologist though) nearby and my wife was advised to take cabergoline tablet to temporarily suppress the lactation. So, as advised, she took 1 mg on monday night, .25 mg on tuesday night and .25 mg yesterday morning. Now, the fever has vanished but breast milk is not being produced. So, we visited a gynaecologist today and she was told that cabergoline should not have been consumed as it may affect lactation permanently and she is now given lactare tablet. However, she is worried now. So, pls let me know whether she will be able to resume her breastfeeding as she has not consumed cabergoline since yesterday morning.
