I am a 17 year old teenage girl with an iron deficiency. I noticed that I can?t lose weight whatever I do, I play track and eat healthy but my weight won?t budge. I was wondering if my iron deficiency is linked to that? And will I get better after the first iron infusion? As in my body will start functioning the way it should be?

Iron deficiency cannot lead to weight gain. It can lead to weakness, difficulty in breathing, headache, vertigo but not weight gain. It may be due to some other medical condition or it may be your constitution.

You have to go for some tests for finding out the source of deficiency. Like what is causing it. May be thyroid or some other other associated weakness. Take a few customised blood tests with help of a medical practitioner in the meantime.
