So I have been previously fully vaccinated for rabies (but its been like 8/9 yrs) and recently I got a small scratch from a cat. So I have gone with rabies boosters and taken on 0 and 3 days. But I have been confused as I have consulted some doctors some of them are saying to take only 2 doses and some are saying to go with 3 doses on day 0 3 and (7 or 14). And due to this I have pending 3rd dose and its been over 3 days more from the 7th day. But the doctor said me that you can take 3rd dose on day 7 or 14. So should I go for the 3rd dose or 2 is enough as on the manual of rabipur vaccine it is said that you should only need to take 2 booster doses if fully vaccinated previously. So should I go with the 3rd dose or not and is it effective after the 7th day. And I also fell ill after the vaccine doses like headache fever dehydration body ache which only last for 24 hrs but is it common?

Although it is not absolutely needed, it will give extra protection if you take the third dose also. The difference in advice is due to the doubt whether the third is absolutely needed or not. You can anyway take it when you can even though late as you say
