Mam, I am having anxiety disorder since 3 months, I had stopped taking allopathic medicines after 5 doses (1st rexipra for 2 days then switched to psychiatrist and took etizola and one more flunil20 mg. For 3 days) and, then I stopped allopathy completely due to excess side effects and after 7-10 days have started taking saraswataristh, ashwagandha and divya medhavati-(2 capsules two times per day) and yoga and meditation. How much time will it take to normalize me? And recover from anxiety? I experience headaches, some times dizziness (whole world revolving type feeling), some times leg pain, numbness, etc. I don't want to take medicines only except natural objects please help me mam.

Dear Lybrate user, I want you to first add one more thing to get rid of anxiety disorder with the present Ayurvedic treatment i.e. don't let yourself made to sit and think, better involve yourself in some creative work where you will develop patience like gardening and craft or dance if you can. Breathe more oxygen to stay healthy and fit. Don't do meditation at this stage. Hope you are able to do pranayam and yoga upto 30 minutes.Take more raw vegetables and mix fruits before the sunset. and one small bowl of salad before dinner with lemon. If you are drinking tea or coffee ,stop it immediately because caffeine is not helping your mood to get stable. you need yogic diet along with these medications.

First if you don't want medication try cbt weekly sessions with an mphil clinical psychologist or psychiatrist for 3 months. If it doesn't help then medicines are not harmful. Side effects of increased anxiety are there for first three weeks then the side effects decrease.

Although I am not an ayurvedic specialist doctor, and know very little about their medication, I know that the question you are asking is for an ayurvedic doctor. Anxiety disorders are very common and it seems like we need you to consult a pscyhiatrist who can tell you the benefit of our medications. It seems like you did consult a psychiatrist, but did not take the medications for more than 2-3 days. We prescribe medications that do work and it does take some time to take effect. In the meantime you, like many others, had some side effects which you describe only as excess without any detail of each side effect. It may have been prudent to consult your prescribing allopathic doctor at that time. However, since you are here, I can only tell you that our medications work and I strongly suggest that you consult us if you need to get better sooner. Look forward to hearing from you. If you need help with booking an appointment online with me on this website either text, an appointment for a confidential and private consultation you may do so by contacting the help desk of Lybrate.
