I think your medicines are prescribed by a qualified doctor after your clinical evaluation. He has increased your medicines because your blood sugar is not controlled with gemer500. It is always better to discuss everything with your treating physician who can answer all your querries in a better way.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details. Your fasting & pp glucose levels are too high. In fact you need a much stronger correction. More drugs are needed. What is the hba1c%? Ideally in a well controlled person fasting should be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg, pp 150 to 170 mg & hba1c% <6.8% (not mentioned). Therefore, your doctor has suggested the newer tratment. Metformin dosage is up to 2500 mg per day. Looking at your age (53 years), there is a greater need for achieving a much stricted glucose control, to prevent or postpone the long term severe complications associated with diabetes. If you have any questions please do come back. Another aspect, there is no mention of your weight, height, extent of daily exercise or diet pattern. All these are very vital to understand the correct situation. Thanks.
