My mon is k/c/o ra on methotrexate 25 mg and methylprednisolone 16 mg once weekly i.e on saturdays only. She is diabetic also on metformin 500 mg bd. Her fbs is around 70 to 80 mg/dl all day except on sundays. On sundays her fbs is around 150 mg/dl and pp is 197 (she takes methylprednisolone 16 mg on saturday. Her hba1c is 6.8. Rheumatologist asked to bring hba1c below 6.kindly advice.

Thanks for the Query. Need to know your mother's age..?? Secondly HbA1c of 6.8 is quite good and reducing further will cause Hypoglycemia. It's never advised to reduce HbA1c to below 6.
