Dear doctors, i'm a 56 years old woman (wt-73 kg/ht-5'3) almost 12 years with diabetic type 2 and i'am consuming metformin (1000 mg x 2 - morning & late evening) and glibenclamide (10 mg x 2 - morning & late evening) plus insulin intake of 12 units/day before my sleep at night. Doc fyi. I'm having back pain for the past one (1) year, sometimes 'on' and off with painkillers (cereblex 200 mg). Why is it so. Doc?

Hello, Madam thanks for the query. You have mentioned about having T2 DM but no thing about present control (Fasting, PP glucose levels & HbA1c%). No word about , diet and extent of exercise being done. By looking at your weight & height, with a BMI of 28.51 kgs/Sq meter, you are close to being in grade 1 obesity. Your ideal weight should be about 54 kgs. Therefore, it is possible that there is back ache, due to no exercise and excess weight. Or there could be some problem with your back, which needs to be examined by an orthopedician. Thanks.
