My daughter is 17 plus, has had anorexia, in 2015-16. She left school in 2015 after doing 8th std. She had all this due to depression. This all happened at nawanshahr (punjab) where I had worked in pvt co. For 7 years till 2017 .this started in a school where she was treated badly in her class because being extremely intelligent and topper, she had to face jealousy & bad behaviour of her class teacher. This led to problems of depression. Now she is being given stalopam 10 mg daily. Earlier was also given oleanz 5 mg and dicorate. She remains at home, has become obese also. She is highly stubborn and lethargic. Despite my several advices to eat mindfully and do some work outs daily, she flatly refuses to do so. Her self realisation that sine last 3 years she has left school and not doing anything to build her career, is missing. What homeo pathic treatment will be effective in curing her and bring her back to normal life.

Hello It is well known that recovery from anorexia is usually a slow and gradual process. In addition to medication, has she received any psychological therapy like CBT ? It will be helpful to manage any residual eating disorder thoughts, build her self-esteem and develop positive coping strategies. It is common for motivation levels to be low and to be lethargic during this stage. continue supporting and motivating her, she will change gradually. Kindly make sure that no is critical towards her at present. It will further affect her confidence and slow down her recovery. Stalopam ( escitalopram) should help to lift her mood. I presume your daughter is no longer on oleanz and dicorate - how long has it been since it was stopped- hopefully excess weight gain should get better after medication have been stopped. Try to engage in activities she can enjoy like yoga / dancing/ martial arts, etc which can help in weight management and improve her confidence I'm not sure about homeopathic medicines in this context , perhaps another doctor from that specialty can comment regarding the same. Take care

I would suggest cognitive behaviour therapy. In this therapy the therapist will help her to challenge her negative thoughts, she will learn effective techniques to manage her feelings and emotions and also learn to take small steps to restart her normal life again.

It seems like your daughter is not receptive to your advice and she is highly stubborn and lethargic. The medications do not seem to be helping her. We need more information about the dosages and when and why these medications were started. If you are seeking homoeopathic treatment for effective cure, I can tell you from similar patients I have had before that it is not a very helpful mode of therapy. I certainly recommend that she meet up with a counsellor who can help her out. Then she can be referred to a psychiatrist who is experienced in allopathic medications or English medicines. Look forward to hearing from you.
