I am 45 year old and had a blood sugar test done today. My readings are as mentioned below: hba1c: 6.1% blood glucose - fasting: 117 mg/dl glucose, post prandial: 93 mg/ dl mean plasma glucose: 128.4 mg/dl please advise if these readings are normal?

Mr Alex, Thanks for the query. HbA1c% 6.1 & fasting 117 mg suggest you are in pre-diabetic state.. That means if a modified lifestyle is not adopted you are likely to develop diabetes in the coming months to a year or may be a bit later. Thanks.

Hi Sir, Only fasting blood sugar levels are on the higher side. Rest all the rest are normal. You need to lose your body wt. Adopt a healthy lifestyle.
