Hi, I have copd since 6 yrs. In these 6 years 5 times. I had breathlessness and hospitalised. I take regular inhalers (seroflo & duolin) 2 puffs 12 hourly and 2 tablets deriphyllin 1 bd and montelukast 1 od. Even then my copd exacerbates. What could be the reason and what are the precautions should I take?

Need to change to LAMA ,LABA AND ICS combination by inhalation. In COPD montelukast have no roll. Get adult immunization and rehabilitation. Treat any co morbid disease,

You need to get your maintenance copd treatment in place. Having so many flare ups in one year could be because of inadequate medication. Please see a pulmonologist for a thorough work up.
