My 9 months daughter has one clubbed foot. Apart from the casting the doctor has told for needle surgery which involves the use of anesthesia. M worried about the use of anesthesia coz of some previous instance at my home town. My child is small. Can't the surgery be performed with local anesthesia? Is it a mandatory thing (use of anesthesia) while operating a clubbed foot? Kindly suggest.

Why don't you visit Delhi, here few doctor are using local anesthesia for surgery (only if it is possible as per disease) you can contact me for help.

Any children undergoing surgery is stress to both parents and child general anesthesia advantages 1.calms down anxiety and decreases post stress disorder 2.good immobility enables easy manipulation to surgeon 3.adequate analgesia (pain killers are supplemented) therefore kindly get it done with anesthesia in a good center with adequate equipment best option: caudal anesthesia with general anesthesia.
