Recently I get severe back pain, when I was in kitchen and lifting a heavy vessel in order to put it on the kitchen platform, I suddenly get a sprain in my lower back. I applied pain balm and used heating pad also. But there is no relief. I went to the hospital the next day and did x-ray and MRI. So it has been observed in the report that there is lumber spondylosis change observed. There is a compression from L2 to L5 of my spinal cord. The normal curvature of the spinal cord is missing, it becomes straight. I was advised for physiotherapy and few restrictions like not to sit on stool and the places without back support. Advised not to drive scooter, not to use Indian common and not to do any vigorous bending exercises and yoga. Walking also allowed for 1 km only. So I was following those things and I recovered from pain to some extent. But whenever I get up in the morning, I felt stiffness and pain in my lower back and it remained for 1-2 hours, if I apply pain balm, then I am feeling better.

Hello, Your treatment is going on the right direction. There will be done residual stiffness which will eventually go provided you do back strengthening exercises. For your height you are around 30 -35 kg over weight which is a major factor for back pain.

Bhujang Asana ? Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily.
