Good evening doctor, While I was administrating Inj. Xylocaine to the toe of a patient, I pushed hard the syringe and the xylocaine splashed out of the syringe, leaving the needle adhered to the toe. I am not sure of the blood in the syringe or needle but what are my chances of contracting HIV? Status of the patient is unknown. Thank you, Regards.
