My age is 52 years, I have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetics for the past 3 years, even though there is no family history. I want to reverse the diabetics through intermittent fasting. Presently I am using 2 * 500 mg, metformin daily. How should I start the fasting and what about my medication, without any diet.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Usually prevention or reversal is possible in pre-diabetic state. Once diabetes develops it is rather very difficult or almost impossible to reverse it. Looking at your weight and height it is clear that with a BMI of 28. 49 kgs/Sq. Meter you are close to being obese. Weight reduction to about 70 kgs, with strict diet there is a possibility to bring glucose levels under control. Since there is no mention about actual blood glucose levels & HbA1c it is a bit difficult to say anything more. Thanks.
