I am 50 years and a diabetic patient. Now I am taking insulin injection glaritus 100 ml /u and diabetes is in control but then too I have problem of frequent urination at night. The dosage I take is 6 units at around 10: 00 PM. So help me out on this! What could be the reason for this? How it can be treated?

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Hello, It is difficult to comment as no blood glucose values have been mentioned. Ideally when diabetes is well controlled fasting glucose should be < 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <6.8, If these kind of levels are maintained, then one would rarely get up for passing urine at night. Secondly are you only on Glargine or are there any oral drugs for controlling glucose? Because in T2 DM (if you are T2 DM patient) usually along with Insulin oral drugs also are given for better control. Thanks.
