I am a diabetic and take Januvia 100 mg one tab daily after food either after B/F or after lunch. Despite my HbA1c test being within limits I feel very sleepy 1 hour after lunch and dinner. Sleepiness feeling lasts for about 15 min to 30 mins. Is it a symptom of less sleep in the night or any other factor related to diabetic conditions. Pl advise.

It may not be so. Many people feel sleepy or lazy after a good meal. So, you can enjoy a good short nap and feel refreshed. Do maintain the sleep timing - sleep at the routine time at night so that the rhythm ( bio-clock ) is well maintained. Exercise every day as it can induce good sleep and make you feel more relaxed mentally and physically.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. I have gone through the details given. Feeling sleepy just after lunch or dinner, is in no way related to diabetes per say. It could be due to improper sleep at night. Please increase your physical activity both in the morning and in the evening, that should give a sound sleep at night. Which in turn may improve the above situation. As regards HbA1c% being normal, since there is no mention of actual fasting, PP and HbA1c% values, it is difficult to comment. Thanks.
