Dear lybrateuser, -The use of medicine can be reduced or stopped if your bp is controlled by proper lifestyle changes - have a well balanced salt restricted diet with more of fruits , vegetables, whole grains, protein rich foods & heart healthy fats as in olive & canola oil, fish, nuts, avocados, flax & chia seeds - avoid fried, processed & junk food, restrict intake of tea, coffee to 1-2 cups per day - do regular exercise like brisk walking, jogging, cycling, yoga, meditation & deep breathing exercises to lower your bp & to keep you fit - keep stress to the minimum by sleeping well for 7-8 hrs at night, reading, listening to music or following a happy - consult your doctor for change in medication & also regular bp monitoring.
