You will have to take a totally restricted diet, that gives exact caloric needs based on your ideal body weight (67 kgs) and not on 83 kgs. Plus there has to be a reduction in total carbohydrate intake. Because all the carbs (rice, roti, chapati, paratha, dosa, idli, potato, banana, corn, millets) get converted to glucose only after digestion. Plus you will have to reduce your weight and bring it towards 67 kgs. That will help in preventing progressing towards diabetes. Thanks.
