I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovaries about 6 months ago, when my periods became irregular with sudden weight gain. I failed to see a doctor until now. My college doctor prescribed me Diane 35 and Metformin for six months. I want to lose weight as that will relieve the irregular periods. However, I am very skeptical about taking Diane 35, as I have heard about the side effects. And I have never taken a pill before. Can I skip the pills and just take Metformin, while exercising and losing weight? My height is 5'5 and a sudden weight gain of 77 kgs,

It is advisable to make a patient bleed regularly, the diane 35 has been given to regularise your cycles, some of the contraindications to OCPs are 1. Thrombotic tendencies in an individual. 2. Migrain with aura. 3. History of breast cancer in self or family. 4. Smoking a large number of cigarettes per day. My advise would be to keep taking diane 35.
