Sir/mam, I had a broken condom incident with a prostitute in a high HIV prevalence area in India. I am a male and was having vaginal sex when the condom broke and I was inside her with the broken condom for less than a minute. I have taken a 4th generation HIV 1 & 2 Antibody p24 antigen Combo test at 13 weeks (93 days) post exposure. The result of the test is Non-Reactive. Some websites say that the 4th generation test is accurate any day 4 weeks post exposure and I don't need any more testing and some say that no test is accurate before the 3 months mark. And here in India everyone suggests a 6 months window period. I am very much confused. Could you please suggest me how good is my 13 week negative combo test? Have you heard of someone with a negative at 13 week go on and test positive for HIV at the 3 or 6 months mark? Thank you.
