Can augmentin 1000 amoxyclav be powdered and had? I underwent a dental surgery. Mouth opening and swallowing is difficult now. Please suggest me for that.

Hello Lybrate user, yes you can make the powder it mix it in a glass of water and have it. The effect is same. In fact tha tablet are two big to swallow so I recommend to break it into two halves and have it one at a time. Hope this helps.

Dear Lybrate User, Yes you can dissolve the powder in water and sip it slowly, as long as you can bear the taste of the medicine. Drink some more water in the end, so that all the remnant particles of the medicine are washed down your throat.

As long as you are going through difficulty in mouth opening and swallowing, you can have your prescribed oral medicine in any form (tablets, capsules, powdered, syrups etc). Only thing which will create problem is the bitter taste. You may have vomiting sensation while doing so. So what you can do is to take amoxiclav syrups (moxiclav, amoclav, megaclav etc). Yes you can powder the tab and then consume it. please specify for what you underwent a dental surgery. Any how having restricted mouth opening after administration of anaesthetics can happen and it resolves over a period of time. If it is interfering with your daily routine, you can consult your doc and get a medicine prescribed for it to heal up faster.
